Finding Your Niche
Niche. Tribe. Community. Audience. All of these terms refer to the same concept; your business best serves a particular group of people. These are your people... the people who your message resonates with. Being clear on who they are will make your marketing easier, more effective and delightfully authentic.
Finding your niche might feel complicated or scary, but you can find the answer by drilling down to one simple question...
What have you healed from in your own journey?
That's it. That's the question.
When you answer this question, don't limit yourself to focusing on what you have totally overcome. You might be on the path to healing but not 100% through the journey yet, and that is okay. Often, you share the same path with your tribe, though you're a few steps farther into it than they are.
Working with people who are struggling with something you've healed from is a win-win situation. It is highly beneficial for your tribe to work with someone who understands their values, challenges and fears. And for you, it is a healing and empowering experience to you to turn your "mess into a message" that elevates and catalyzes progress for people who are where you once were. The first time a client told me that our work together had caused a transformational, life-changing shift for her, I was filled with a deep sense of joy and healing. It's an amazing thing to be part of, for sure. Every time I help in the healing shifts of other people, my scars fade a little (or a lot).
When you take this approach to finding your niche, you have an amazing opportunity to create services, products or programs that you would have loved to have had when you were back in that place of struggle. You also have the chance to be the person you would have loved to have been in communication with, back then.
